The premise of this course is that social reality (which includes current forms of technology) shapes the way we conceptualize ourselves and our world, as well as the way we relate to others and dwell in the acts we perform. This module will examine the transhumanist movement and then consider several very recent texts written from a religious perspective (for example, Jacob Shatzer’s 2019 Transhumanism and the Image of God) that have critically and constructively engaged the transhumanist argument concerning human evolution.
