PETA’s Vision of Justice

Author: Nina Tanaka

Caption: In this essay, I analyze PETA’s approach to climate change in relation to animal product consumption. PETA, or the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, is a non-profit animal rights activist group that is well-known for their extreme public demonstrations. By emphasizing the direct relationship between harming animals and the progression of climate change, PETA provides a new perspective to motivate people to prevent the climate crisis. I analyze the efficacy of PETA’s persuasion methods, and propose improvements to their current activism.
