Geothermal Energy and Climate Justice

Author: Lauren Beshaw

Caption: When we ask questions about nuclear energy, we inevitably begin to think about other forms of renewable energy. This exhibit explores geothermal energy, an often overlooked renewable energy source, specifically in the context of justice. While implementing renewable energy plants is eco-friendly, we need to ensure that we are not just protecting the climate, but promoting environmental justice overall. This Story Map examines the past, present, and future of geothermal energy, while simultaneously evaluating its potential for the establishment of equitable environmental access for all.
