The Misinformation Campaign

Author: Simran Shah

Caption: On his self-titled political talk show, Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson ranted about Democratic Party’s “Misinformation Campaign” surrounding climate change. He declared them frauds, and announced their identification of climate change as the accelerant to the California wildfires as mere conjecture. This news segment perfectly captures what it means to use doubt as a tool. News anchors like Tucker Carlson, as well as politicians and industry chiefs, continue to trivialize environmental issues by calling environmentalists overdramatic. By juxtaposing these comments with facts from scientific data sources and institutions, I hope to show that if we look at the facts and skip the commentary, we can see just how big of an issue climate change really is.
